About the author

My inspiration comes
from my passion of native Australian birds, particularly those around Mackay in Queensland, where I live. After writing poems about birds since 2012, I decided that I had the right ingredients to publish a children’s book. In 2015 I self-published my first book in the series of four Crazy Bird Stories books.

About the Books

The aim of my first four books is to introduce children to birds. I wanted my message to be entertaining as well as educational. These books include short catchy rhyming stories combined with bird facts, to entice and enlighte n young enquiring minds. The twelve stories in both Books 1 & 3 are designed for the naught to eight year olds and Books 2 & 4 target a slightly older age bracket because they are single story books.

My next book, Hello Cocky, was a change of pace and it contains 72 poems depicting events and experiences in my life up to when my family and I left Victoria to start a new life in Queensland in 1997. Last year provided the opportunity with photographer mater Steve Dew, to put together my book number six. This, A Compilation of Birding Observations book, contains 46 of my bird poems with each decorated by Steve’s bird photos. The majority of these stories are about local Mackay birds.
